How To Ungroup On Canva

There comes a time in every design when you need to ungroup objects. Maybe you accidentally grouped some elements together, or maybe you want to move just one object from a group. Whatever the reason, it’s easy to do in Canva.

Splitting apart grouped elements in Canva takes only a moment, and there are two easy routes you can take:

Method 1: Right Click On The Group Element Then Choose “Ungroup”

Open the Canva design that you want to edit and select the group element that you want to ungroup. Right click on the element and select “Ungroup” from the menu that appears.

Method 2: Press “CMD/CTRL + G” On Your Keyboard

If you’re using a Mac, press “CMD + G” on your keyboard. If you’re using a PC, press “CTRL + G”. This will ungroup the selected element.

Whichever method you choose, here’s what it will look like when you ungroup an element:

When you’re finished making changes, you can group elements together again by doing the same process as ungrouping them. On a PC the same “CTRL + G” shortcut toggles grouping back on, so the keys you used to split the objects will also recombine them.
