Zoom is a powerful tool that lets you host virtual meetings with ease. However, there may be times when you want to hide certain participants from view. Perhaps you’re discussing sensitive information and don’t want everyone to see who is taking part. Or maybe you’re hosting a large meeting and only want to focus on the people who are actively speaking.
Whatever the reason, Zoom enables you to hide the participants on Zoom. Keep reading to know how to do this!
The easiest way to hide participants in a Zoom meeting is through Focus Mode. This feature is available on the desktop app for both Windows and Mac. It’s also available on the Zoom mobile apps for iOS and Android from Zoom Room.
When you enable Focus Mode, participants can’t see each other to stay focused on the active speaker. However, the host and co-host can still see each other and the participants. Here is how to turn on the Focus Mode:
1. Open the Zoom website from a web browser and log in to your account.
2. Press “Settings” from the options on the right.
3. Open “In Meeting (Advanced)” and find Focus Mode.
4. Turn on the Toggle beside the Focus Mode.
Done! Now you can easily enable Focus Mode during a meeting to hide all participants from the screen.
To turn on Focus Mode while in a meeting, click on “More” and then select “Start Focus Mode.” If you want to exit focus mode, simply click “Start Focus Mode” under “More.”
You can also hide the participant profile pictures from view, which can be an option to record the meeting securely. Here are the steps:
1. Join or start a meeting.
2. Click on “Security.”
3. Press “Hide Profile Pictures.”
That’s it! Now Zoom will hide the profile picture of the participant and show the name instead.
