Cue Card Generator

← All presentation tools

Use short prompts that help you speak naturally. Separate sections with blank lines; long sections are split at your chosen word limit.

The print view places each card on its own page. Choose your paper size and scale in the print dialog; trim cards if needed. Regenerate after editing notes.

Instructions

  1. Enter Presentation title and short prompts in Notes. Use blank lines between sections.
  2. Set Maximum words per card and Print text size.
  3. Select Generate cards and check the numbered cards for clear transitions.
  4. Use Download cards as text or Print cards. Regenerate after editing Notes.

Understanding your results

Blank lines start new cards; long sections split at the word limit. The tool arranges your notes rather than summarising them. Keywords, reminders and cues such as [pause] can help you look up more often than a complete script.

What to do if your printed cards are too large or hard to read

Adjust Print text size and Maximum words per card, then generate again. The print view gives each card its own page. Choose paper size and scale in your browser print dialog, and print a sample before the full set.

Using this tool in your browser

This tool handles your entries in your browser with JavaScript enabled and does not save them automatically. Use the download or print controls described in the instructions to keep a copy before closing or reloading the page. On a phone, your browser controls where downloads go and which print options are available.

Summary

Keep prompts brief and practise with the same cards you plan to use on the day.

More tips for your practice

  • Use keywords, brief reminders, and transition cues instead of a complete script.
  • Blank lines start new cards. Long sections split into additional cards.
  • Include delivery cues such as [pause], [show slide], or [look up].
  • Print a sample card to check that the text is readable at your speaking distance.
  • Everything runs in your browser; downloads are local text files.
