Few things are more frustrating than having your train of thought interrupted by a string of suggested edits, especially when you’re in the middle of writing something important. If you’re using Google Docs and sick of these suggestions, there’s an easy way to turn them off.
Below are the instructions on how to turn off suggestions in Google Docs.
First, open a document in Google Docs.
Click on “Tools” in the top menu bar and select “Preferences.”
A pop-up window will appear. Uncheck the box next to “Show Smart Compose Suggestions.” (In my case, the option is not available)
Click “OK” to save changes and close the pop-up window.
Now you can continue writing your document without worrying about those pesky suggestions getting in the way!
Google Doc’s smart suggestion might be helpful to some users but can be really annoying and irritating to others. If you find yourself in the latter category, simply follow the steps above to turn off the suggestions.
